It compares favourably with Africa’s well-known fishing Mecca, Lake Kariba, in Zimbabwe. Lake Jozini Lake Jozini (also known as the Pongolapoort Dam) covers a total surface area of 16 000 hectares and is fed by the Pongola River with a catchment area of over one thousand square kilometres. The length of the lake south to north exceeds 30km, the northern corner cutting into Swaziland. On the eastern side is nestles against the spectacular Lebombo mountain range, with the 90 metres high wall in the poort itself. From the novice fisherman to the expert anglers fishing with a fly, Lake Jozini offers you the ideal location for tiger fish of a lifetime, while you enjoy the pristine wilderness setting Private Outside Venues A visit to Dumazulu Cultural Village and Illala Basket Weavers can be arranged, as well as visits to rural schools, zulu chiefs and herbal doctors.
